Welcome to the web pages of Ms. Ellickson. I teach the two Marine Biology courses that are offered as part of the Marine Science program, Marine Biology and Applied Marine Biology. Along with Marine Biology, I have a dual enrollment course offered each semester in Biotechnolgy. |
Marine Biology is designed to be the second year course of the four year Marine Science program, so mostly consists of sophomore students. This course covers the basics principles of biology, and focuses on the bacteria, protists, and invertebrate animals found in marine environments. |
Applied Marine Biology is the third year course of the Marine Science program, and is mostly upper classmen. This year focuses on the vertebrate animals of the ocean, including fish, reptiles, birds and mammals. Students work more independantly in this class, doing much individual research. Some of their work is displayed in the "Applied Power Points" section of my website. |
