Beginning in the spring semester of 2008, a number of biotechnology courses were added for students of Carl Hayden to get the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit, while having the chance to work with lab equipment used in biotechnology labs. The field of biotechnology is a growing field, where many post-graduation opportunities will exist for students in these areas. |
These biotechnology courses have been brought to Carl Hayden through a partnership with South Mountain Community College. IN addition to offering college credit that can be transferred to a four-year university, South Mountain has provided the equipment and the support to allow us to offer these classes. |
Students will earn 4 college credits in the fall semester for completing BIO 107: Introduction to Biotechnology.
BIO 241: Human Genetics, is offered in the spring semester. It is also worth 4 credit hours as well as high school honors credit. |
